Joliet girls golfers top Plainfield Central to finish 9-0 in Southwest Prairie Conference

Joliet girls golf finished its Southwest Prairie Conference schedule with a 181-199 win over Plainfield Central that secured a 9-0 conference record at Inwood Golf Course on Tuesday.

McKenna Anderson was medalist with a 40, while Lilly Luangsomkham (45), Mia Hromek (46) and Jersy Hauert (50) also scored for Joliet.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Plainfield Central 2, Lockport 1: At Plainfield, the Wildcats defended their home floor with a 25-21, 25-27, 25-18 win over the Porters in nonconference action.

Lindsay Oldendorf had a strong outing for Lockport in spite of the loss, piling up 10 kills and 15 digs.

Stagg 2, Joliet Central 0: At Palos Hills, Stagg made short work of the visiting Steelmen in a 25-9, 25-12 victory.

Coal City 2, Herscher 0: At Coal City, the Coalers improved their season standing to 9-7 overall and 4-1 in the Illinois Central Eight Conference with a 28-26, 27-25 victory over the Tigers.

Addyson Waliczek had five kills and 12 digs to lead the way for the Coalers.

BOYS GOLF

Plainfield Central triangular: At Naperbrook, Plainfield North shot 153 to top Minooka (164) and Plainfield Central (170) on the strength of a medal-winning round of 37 from Tanner Daugherty.

Drew Czarnik was just behind Daugherty with a 38, while James Miscione and Jackson Floros each shot a 39 to cap a strong day for the Tigers.
