Megan Hutchinson scored four goals to lead Lincoln-Way Central to a 7-0 win over visiting Stagg in Southwest Suburban Conference girls soccer action Thursday night.
Reagan Schultz, Emma Vogler and Sarah Borsellino also scored. Emma Olson had two assists, while Grace Grundhofer, Sydney Slomski, Faith Jones and Vogler each had one. Emma Sauriol earned the clean sheet in goal as the Knights improved to 7-1-2 overall and 3-0 in the SWSC.
BASEBALL
Joliet West 15, Joliet Central 0: The Tigers (11-7) won their third straight game over their district rivals as freshman Jimmy Anderson scattered three hits in the six-inning shutout.
Josh Wokurka provided a two-run double to get things really rolling for Joliet West while a nine-run outburst in the sixth put the game away.
Peotone 12, Kankakee Trinity Academy 2: At Kankakee Trinity Academy, Matthew Derkacy homered, singled and drove in two runs for the Blue Devils in their nonconference win.
Thomas Lynch had two hits and two RBIs as well, and Tristan Weglarz contributed a double. Kade Hupe pitched a six-inning complete game, allowing three hits and no earned runs while striking out five and not walking a batter.
Seneca 11, Henry 2: At Henry, Brayden Roe went 3 for 5 for the Irish.
Beecher 4, Wilmington 3 (8 inn.): At Beecher, the Bobcats pulled out the nonconference game in extra innings, pushing across a solo run in the eighth.
Jake Friddle homered, doubled and drove in all three of Wilmington’s runs. Kaden Humphries was 2 for 4 for the Wildcats.
Romeoville 6, Plainfield Central 4: At Romeoville, the Wildcats tried to rally back from an early 5-0 deficit in the Southwest Prairie Conference game, but could only cut it to 5-4.
Plainfield Central left the bases loaded in two consecutive innings. Andrew Boekeloo (1 for 1, RBI) was on base all four times he came to the plate. Spencer Ruch doubled, walked and scored a run. Jack Irwin threw well in relief for the Wildcats.
Plainfield North 12, West Aurora 8: At Plainfield North, the Tigers improved to 11-4 and 6-3 in the Southwest Prairie.
Ethan Cook (2-1) pitched 3⅔ innings for the win, allowing two unearned runs. Alex Brodie was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and John St. Clair went 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs for the Tigers, who scored seven runs in the first and four in the fifth .
SOFTBALL
Montini 9, Providence 0: At Providence, the Celtics spotted the Broncos a 7-0 lead after two innings in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference game.
Providence (9-12, 4-2) had only five hits, all of which were singles. Ava Jeziorski was was 2 for 3 for the Celtics.
Joliet Catholic 3, Lockport 0: At Lockport, Andie Broniewicz earned the win, scattering three hits over seven innings in the nonconference game.
Charlie Kinsella went 2 for 3 with a solo home run and two RBIs for JCA (12-7).
Seneca 8, Henry 4: At Henry, the Irish (12-2) got two hits apiece from Sam Vandevelde (two triples, two RBIs), Maddy Klicker (double, three RBIs) and Kennedy Hartwig (triple).
Taya Roe (5-0) went the distance in the circle, allowing three earned runs and striking out seven.

Lincoln-Way East 8, Lincoln-Way Central 6: At Lincoln-Way Central, the Griffins prevailed, dropping the Knights to 13-2.
WRESTLING
Lincoln-Way Central 45, West Aurora 31: At West Aurora, the Knights improved to 5-1, receiving pins from Nathan Knowlton (106), Joey Malito (120), Michael Olson (145) and Maximos Villasenor (170).
Lincoln-Way Central 77, Plainfield Central 6: At West Aurora, the Knights hiked their record to 6-1, in part, thanks to pins from Joey Malito (120), Jeremy Reyna (126), Matthew Hollingsworth (138), Michael Olson (145), Dustin Kozlowski (160), Maximos Villasenor (170), Andrew Hesse (195) and Braeden Barrett (220).
Seneca 39, Sherrard 27: At Putnam County, the Irish got pins from Luke Sangston (113), Chris Peura (170), Gavin Robertson (182), Josh Bynum (220) and Nathan Elliott (285).
Seneca 66, Putnam County 6: At Putnam County, Chris Peura (182) had the lone pin for the Irish, who won 10 matches by forfeit in improving to 12-1 with its school-record 12th dual win in a row.

Lincoln-Way West 4, Bradley-Bourbonnais 1: At Bradley-Bourbonnais, the Warriors led 1-0 at halftime of the SWSC match.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Lockport 2, Homewood-Flossmoor 0: At Homewood-Flossmoor, Matt Arens slammed eight kills, Evan Dziadkowiec dished out 13 assists, and the Porters won, 25-14, 25-19, in SWSC action.
Lockport (10-2, 6-1) also received five kills from Owen Knezevich and eight digs from Carter Steffgen, who also served two aces.
Lincoln-Way Central 2, Sandburg 1: At Lincoln-Way Central, Will Hinchliffe had eight kills, three aces, three blocks and nine digs for the Knights in their 26-24, 22-25, 25-14 win.
Lincoln-Way Central’s other contributors included Luke Mostello (12 digs), Jared Garcia (26 assists, nine digs), Nathan Fritz (five kills, four digs) and Michael Greco (four kills, three blocks.
The Knights improved to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in the SWSC.
