Freshman Nojukas Indrusaitis poured in 18 points to lead Lemont to a 72-40 South Suburban crossover win Monday over Richards in Lemont.
Kyle Kostas followed with 17 points, and Rokas Castillo provided the Indians (7-1) with 15 points.
Kaneland 45, Morris 43: At Morris, the visiting Knights hung on for the Interstate Eight win.
Kaneland led, 9-8, after one quarter, took at 24-21 advantage into halftime and was up, 34-30, after three.
Myles Johnston scored 15 points to lead Morris (2-2, 2-1), and Colin Cummings had 13.
Watseka 62, Dwight 55 (OT): At Dwight, the Trojans came up short in overtime of the Sangamon Valley game, despite Brandon Ceylor’s game-high 29 points, which included five 3-pointers.
Waubonsie Valley 57, Bolingbrook 49: At Waubonsie Valley, the host Warriors picked up the win.
Kyonte Thomas led Bolingbrook with 13 points, and Michael Osei-Bonsu had 10 points and six rebounds.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Gardner-South Wilmington 60, Tri-Point 48: At Tri-Point, Addi Fair 22 scored points, Abby Beck added 17, and the Pantehrs improved to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the River Valley Conference.
Kylie Hawks had 10 points in the win.
Peotone 59, Wilmington 21: At Peotone, the Blue Devils improved to 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the Illinois Central Eight, as Madi Schroeder had 18 points, six assists, three steals and two blocks.
Mallory Ashline had 10 points and six rebounds, and Mady Kibelkis contributed 10 points (two 3-pointers), four assists and three steals. Peotone raced to a 21-8 lead after one quarter, led 33-13 at halftime and extended its advantage to 52-16 heading into the fourth.
Reed-Custer 30, Coal City 26: At Coal City, the Coalers came up just short in Illinois Central Eight action.
Audrey Cooper had nine points, six rebounds and three steals for Coal City (4-5, 4-3).
Seneca 49, Putnam County 33: At Seneca, Maddie Bromberek and Brooklyn Giertz scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, for the Irish in Tri-County Conference play.
Carly Greve had six points for Seneca (10-1, 7-1).
BOYS SWIMMING
Lockport 107, Lincoln-Way West 77: At Lockport, sophomore Matthew Johnson won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.69) and 100 butterfly (57.49) and also swam on the victorious 200 and 400 free relays to lead the Porters.
Thomas Abramite (50 free, 23.14) and Michael Erickson (500 free, 5:14.9) also won events for Lockport.
For Lincoln-Way West, Sean Finley touched first in both the 200 IM (2:01.72) and 100 breaststroke (59.85), while Tristan Minarik captured the 100 free (52.38) and 100 backstroke (59.63).
BOYS BOWLING
Plainfield Central 3,127, Minooka 3,036: At Minooka, Chris Beinvenu bowled a 656 series to lead the visiting Wildcats to the victory over last season’s third-place finisher at state.
Ben Smith rolled a 651, while team captain Mason Craig and freshman Jacob Chavez both shot a 639, helping Plainfield Central improve to 6-1 heading into Wednesday’s home dual-meet against Joliet Central at Plainfield Lanes.
GIRLS BOWLING
Joliet Central 2,615, Yorkville 2,302: At Yorkville Bowl, Devon Thomas’ 622 series, including a high game of 242, led the Steelwomen, who took all 10 points.
Christine Butler (576 series, 213 high game) and Maddalynn Butler (528, 185) also had strong performances for Joliet Central.
SUNDAY’S RESULT
Lockport wins Hononegah invite: At Forest Hills Lanes in Loves Park, Chloe Siezega rolled a tournament-best 1,308 series (six games), including a high game of 246, to lead the Porters to the championship.
Lockport finished with a 5,963, just ahead of runner-up Harlem (5,910), while Joliet West (5,146) was eighth in the 10-team field. Lockport’s Isabella Colon rolled a 1,260 series (fourth best), and Emma Punter had an 1,165 (12th). Payton Vanderburg contributed an 1,149 series (tie for 14th) for the Porters.
Joliet West was led by Natalie Moldovan (1,071 series).
BADMINTON
Lincoln-Way Central 10, Andrew 5: At Lincoln-Way Central, the Knights celebrated Senior Night, improving to 6-2 overall and 6-2 in the Southwest Suburban Conference.
