Edward-Elmhurst Health donated PPE to assist with COVID-19 care in India

The supplies will be distributed to rural hospitals and COVID-19 camps

Edward-Elmhurst Health recently donated of 3,500 isolation gowns, 6,000 N95 respirators and 72,000 exam gloves to the National Council of Asian Indian Association.

This association will work with National India Hub to ship the items to India, according to a news release from Edward-Elmhurst Health, which also has clinics in Crest Hill and Plainfield.

These items will help assist in the care of patients with COVID-19. The supplies will be distributed to rural hospitals and COVID-19 camps – which are being set up in schools and community centers in the country – to assist in the care of patients with COVID-19, the release said.

India is averaging nearly 4,000 deaths and 400,000 new infections each day, the release said. Since the pandemic began, the country has registered nearly 250,000 deaths and 23 million cases, the release added.
