D-202 in Plainfield hosting madrigals, holiday music events

Food will not be served at any of the madrigal concerts this year

The music departments at Plainfield Community High School District 202 will host a variety of musical events in December, according to a news release from the district.

These include madrigal concerts and concerts featuring holiday music. Food will not be served at any of the madrigal shows this year. Facemasks must be worn while inside the schools.

Madrigal shows

Plainfield South High School: 2 and 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and 2 p.m. Dec. 5, auditorium, 7800 W. Caton Farm Road, Plainfield. Interactive performance. Three of the bravest, wittiest and strongest champions compete for chance to marry royal princess. $12. Purchase tickets at showtix4u.com/event-details/58936.

Plainfield East High School: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and 3 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5, in the auditorium, 12001 S. 248th St., Plainfield. Revival of the royal court and return to the kingdom. Four vocal madrigals ensembles and the two instrumental madrigal ensembles. Free. Suggested donation: $10 per person or $25 per family.

Plainfield North High School: 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, in the auditorium, 12005 S. 248th Ave., Plainfield. Three princes compete for the role of king of the White Castle. Free. Suggested donation: $10 per person or $25 per family.
