Channahon’s Three Rivers Festival offers a jam-packed weekend

Will County Inside/Outside Guide offers suggestions for enjoying your weekend

Welcome to The Herald-News’ Will County Inside/Outside Guide. Each week, Features Editor Denise M. Baran-Unland (@Denise_Unland61) highlights a few ideas for you to enjoy your weekend in Will County.

So far, it looks as if the rain and extreme heat will stay away this weekend. That’s good news for those heading out to the Three Rivers Festival in Channahon this weekend.

Although organizers debated against canceling opening day (Wednesday) due to the possiblity of inclement weather, the festival went on. A wide variety of activities are planned, including live entertainment of all kinds, carnival, food and beer garden.

One recommendation from me is stopping by the food tent of Delight Wish in Channahon. In the past, the restaurant has served phenomenal homemade pierogies, certainly not the typical festival fare. The restaurant’s full menu is posted at delightwish.com/menu although only a sampling of items will most likely be available at Three Rivers Festival.
