1) Start the weekend off with two opportunities to enjoy free music. The first is the weekly “Concerts On The Hill” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre in Joliet. Featured performers are Cloggin Craze, Alex Hoffer Band. 3) The Forest Preserve District of Will County will host Food Truck Fridays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Hammel Woods, Crumby Recreation Area in Shorewood. 4) Fourth of July fireworks show in Joliet will start at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Joliet Junior College main campus, located at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The gates at the entrance, at Elmer W. Rowley Drive, will open at 6 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. Parking in lots on the east side of the campus and in lots on the south side of the campus. No grilling or alcohol is allowed. Picnic food and non-alcoholic beverages are acceptable. The event will have no vendors or live music.

5) Enjoy one final to close out the long holiday weekend on Monday night at the weekly “Cruisin’ into Lockport” event. This is a series of free car shows and concert from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Monday nights at Central Square, located at Ninth Street and Hamilton. Bring your own chair to sit on the square lawn, browse the market, enoy the cars and listen to music. The July 5 event will feature the Steve Edwards Orchestra (40s, 50s and rhythm and blues music) and orphan cars.
