Part of Jackson Street temporarily closing Monday at railroad crossing

On Monday, the BNSF Railway will temporarily close part of Jackson Street in Joliet for scheduled crossing repair work.

On Monday, the BNSF Railway will temporarily close part of Jackson Street in Joliet for scheduled crossing repair work.

Jackson Street will close at the rail crossing between Scott and State streets from about 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, although the closure may last up to 10 hours, according to a news release from the city of Joliet.

A detour will be posted with advance signage to guide motorists.

Drivers should use alternate routes and exercise caution when traveling in the area.
