Sterling Chevrolet owner buys Dixon Ford

DIXON – Lee Schreiber Automotive Group, owner of Sterling Chevrolet, is the new owner of the Dixon Ford Volkswagen dealership at 489 state Route 2.

All 40 employees were retained in the sale that closed Oct. 1, and everything will stay the same as far as the name and products, owner Lee Schreiber said.

“We’ve got a great team over here,” Schreiber said, adding that because it is a new dealership for him, he was able to get a special allocation of vehicles, what he called “an unfair share of new cars,” to boost the inventory.

“We’re going to load this thing up,” he said. “It’s going to be so much better for the community – it’s a new attitude, a new way of doing business.”

Schreiber, of Geneva, has owned Sterling Chevrolet, 1824 Locust St., a little over 6 years. He has been considering the Dixon Ford purchase for some time, and recently the opportunity became just too good to pass up, he said.

Dixon Ford was owned by Home Run Auto Group, a division of Jimarkev Investments LLC in Woodstock, the three principals of which are listed as James W. Bozich from Lake Geneva Wisconsin, Mark J. Geiger from Monroe, Wisconsin, and Kevin T. Keesee from Woodstock.

Schreiber is so pleased and confident with the Sauk Valley, he said, that not only has he chosen to invest “millions of dollars,” but he also now owns a home here.

Schreiber said he and his staff are busy bringing the new dealership into the fold, training staff in the Sterling Chevrolet way, but he plans an open house later in October.
