Harvard, Johnsburg and Richmond were selected to receive regional planning assistance from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
The agency will work with each community to help maintain their local infrastructure and receive support from an engineering firm to create a document to evaluate the current condition of pavement and estimate cost, according to a news release. The information will help inform local capital infrastructure plans.
CMAP recently approved 21 new technical assistance programs in total.
Since 2012, the agency has aided northeastern Illinois communities with more than 200 planning projects through its technical assistance program.
