Huntley apartment evacuated in balcony fire

No injuries were reported, according to fire department’s battalion chief

No injuries were reported after a fire broke out in a Huntley apartment building early Saturday morning.

Fire personnel were dispatched at 3:56 a.m. to 11716 Woodcreek Dr.

When crews arrived, there were some flames on the third- and second-floor balconies, but no flames extended into the building, Battalion Chief Mike Pierce said.

All residents evacuated the building by the time firefighting crews got there, Pierce said.

Pierce said residents were allowed back into the building shortly after 7 a.m.
