United Way of Greater McHenry County CEO joins board of Crystal Lake-based Home State Bank

The head of United Way of Greater McHenry County is the latest addition to Crystal Lake-based Home State Bank’s Board of Directors, the bank said in a news release.

Home State Bank is the largest independently owned financial institution in McHenry County with assets in excess of $750 million, according to a release. Jamie Maravich was elected to its Board of Directors at its June meeting.

Maravich previously served as market president for BMO Harris Bank, where she oversaw the performance of 14 retail branch locations throughout McHenry County and northern Lake County for more than 10 years, according to the release.

“Jamie brings an abundance of banking experience and community involvement to our board, and I am delighted she is joining us,” Home State Bank President and CEO Steven L. Slack said in a statement.

Maravich is currently the CEO and president of the United Way of Greater McHenry County, which works with other nonprofits and agencies to help residents meet their basic needs, develop economic self-sufficiency and improve educational opportunities for themselves and their children, according to the release.

Maravich is also the chairwoman of the Foglia YMCA in Lake Zurich’s board and has previously served on the board of directors for United Way of Greater McHenry County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County, the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and the McHenry County Economic Development Corp. She also is an alumna of Leadership Greater McHenry County.

She is married and has two children, according to the release.
