Two-vehicle crash Sunday in Lake in the Hills injures one

One person was injured late Sunday when two vehicles collided in the intersection of Pyott Road and Jesse Road in Lake in the Hills and careened into nearby utility poles.

Officials from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District said they were notified of the crash about 10:15 p.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the driver of one of the vehicles was trapped inside the car and need to be extricated. After removing the unidentified man from the vehicle, he was treated by paramedics and the scene and released.

The second driver, another unidentified man, was able to get out of his vehicle under his own power, and had been moved inside a nearby home. Paramedics took that man to Northwestern Huntley Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, fire officials said.

ComEd crews arrived on scene to repair the damage to the utility poles.

There was no word on if any of the drivers were issued citations by Lake in the Hills police.
