Lake in the Hills seeks applicants for Planning and Zoning Commission

Applications are due by Friday

The village of Lake in the Hills Board of Trustees is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The Planning and Zoning Commission reviews applications regarding variances, zoning amendments, conditional use permits, and planned unit developments and appeals to decisions made by the village’s director of community and economic development, the village said in a news release.

“Members of the Planning and Zoning Commission play a critical role in shaping the economic and physical landscape of Lake in the Hills,” Village President Ray Bogdanowski said in a statement. “Residents with a strong interest in public service and community development are encouraged to apply.”

The commission is also responsible for reviewing subdivision plats and development plans. Based on those reviews and discussions, members make recommendations related to community development to the village’s Board of Trustees.

The commission meets on the Monday following the second Thursday of every month. The meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public.

Bogdanowski will review applications and candidates to fill the vacancy and make a recommendation to the Village Board.

Those interested in applying can find an application from at lith.org/government/boards-commissions. Once completed, application forms may be submitted to Bogdanowski at rbogdanowski@lith.org by Friday.

Questions can be directed to the village’s administration department 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday at 847-960-7400.
