Harvard man sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison for domestic battery

Harvard police arrested the 24-year-old in February 2020, in connection with allegations that he battered a person he knew

A 24-year-old Harvard man was sentenced to prison Thursday in connection with 2019 felony domestic battery charges.

Oscar Sanchez Jr. accepted an offer from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and pleaded guilty to one count of domestic battery, according to a news release the state’s attorney’s office issued Friday.

McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge accepted the plea and sentenced Sanchez to 3 1/2 years in prison, according to the release. In exchange for Sanchez’s guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss additional counts of domestic battery.

Harvard police arrested Sanchez in February 2020, in connection with allegations that Sanchez battered a person he knew.
