Police on Thursday arrested a 23-year-old Crystal Lake man accused of sexually assaulting a child on multiple occasions when he was a teenager.

Christopher St. Georges, of the 500 block of Somerset Lane, remained at the McHenry County Jail on Friday morning on a $100,000 bond. Officers with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office arrested St. Georges on Thursday on two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

The charges date back to 2013, alleging that St. Georges had sexual contact with a child younger than 9 years old when he was at least 15, court records show.

A joint investigation between the Algonquin Police Department and the sheriff’s office revealed that St. Georges sexually abused the child on multiple instances, according to a news release the sheriff’s office issued Friday.

He’s scheduled to appear in court Wednesday with an attorney from the McHenry County Public Defender’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 815-334-4750, McHenry County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-762-STOP (7867) or the sheriff’s office tip line at tipline@mchenrycountyil.gov.
