McHenry County College hosts 2022 Skyway Art Competition through April 12

The Skyway Juried Art Competition will be on display at McHenry County College through April 12 in art galleries one and two, which are inside and outside the college’s library, respectively.

The annual Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Juried Art Competition provides and opportunity for student artists to display their work and demonstrate their expertise at the highest level, according to a news release.

Skyway Conference colleges include the College of Lake County, Elgin Community College, McHenry County College, Moraine Valley Community College, Morton College, Oakton Community College, Prairie State College and Waubonsee Community College.

Students from the eight community colleges submitted work to their art instructors, who selected pieces to represent their college in the competition. Jurors Tempestt Hazel and Juli Lowe then selected 40 pieces from 194 submissions to make up this year’s exhibition.
