Rex White tallies 40 points to help Woodstock North defeat Byron, 54-49

Rex White scored 40 points to help Woodstock North outlast Byron, 54-49, on Wednesday night in Woodstock.

White knocked down seven 3-pointers to help the Thunder outlast the Tigers. Gabe Filetti added six points.

Belvidere North 58, Harvard 24: At Harvard, the Hornets couldn’t keep up with the Blue Thunder.

Rockford Christian 74, Richmond Burton 37: At Rockford, the Rockets couldn’t find a way to sneak a road win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Huntley 51, Crystal Lake Central 47: At Crystal Lake, Huntley continued its perfect stretch in Fox Valley Conference play.

Jori Heard led the Red Raiders (11-4, 7-0 FVC) with 16 points while Jessie Ozzauto added 14 points.

Paige Keller led the way with 15 points for the Tigers.

St. Viator 74, Marian Central 35: At Woodstock, the Hurricanes couldn’t keep up with the Hilltoppers.

Ella Notaro led the way for Marian Central with 11 points, while Madison Kenyon added eight.

Jacobs 54, Hampshire 49: At Algonquin, Jacobs rebounded from its loss to Prairie Ridge on Friday with a win against Hampshire.

McHenry 60, Dundee-Crown 38: At Carpentersville, the Warriors picked up a big conference road win.

Emerson Gasmann led the way for McHenry with 20 points, shooting 5 for 8 from 3-point range. Lynette Alsot finished with a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Adriana Gerstung added 12 points.

Dundee-Crown’s Kate Raby led the way with 15 points, and Markasia Harthrone added 10 points.

GIRLS BOWLING

Huntley 2,108, Woodstock 1,885: At Kingston Lanes in Woodstock, the Red Raiders got off to a fast start and never looked back.

Huntley’s Erica DeBello led all scoring with a 618 series and a high game of 236.

Woodstock North junior Norah Mungle tallied a 506 series, with Woodstock North freshman Torin Deacon right behind with a 497.

Harvard 2,114, Sycamore 2,089: At J’s Lanes in Harvard, the Hornets got back into the win column.

Harvard’s Hailey Berkholtz led all scoring with a high series of 370, while Yadira Placencia had the highest game score at 170.
