Ice advisory issued for La Salle, Bureau, Putnam and Livingston counties

Use caution traveling Saturday

Be careful traveling Saturday afternoon.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, calling for freezing drizzle or light freezing rain. Total ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are possible across Northern Illinois.

Temperatures are expected to climb from the teens Saturday morning into the 30s by early evening.

Motorists may have some difficulty with icy roads. Secondary roads, bridges and overpasses, parking lots, and sidewalks are most susceptible to slick conditions. As air temperatures gradually climb to above freezing during Saturday evening, ground and pavement temperatures may lag that, resulting in icy conditions on untreated surfaces. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
