Comedy rock ‘n’ roll performer Gerry Grossman, known as “the Human Jukebox,” will perform on the lawn of Hegeler Carus Mansion in La Salle at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4.
Grossman’s music repertoire includes thousands of hit songs from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, which he weaves around his comedy performance. Each show is tailored to audience involvement and music requests – the crowd can shout the name of a song for Grossman to incorporate into the show.
As the Human Jukebox, Grossman said he can play “the A-side of any rock ‘n’ roll single nationally released between 1955 and 1970.” He has impressed past audiences with his ability to play almost any song requested, according to a news release from Hegeler Carus Mansion.
Grossman has performed with a variety of show business legends, including John Denver, The Byrds, The Turtles, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Johnny Rivers, Tammy Wynette, Albert Brooks, Richard Lewis and The Temptations.
