Franchise owners purchased the remainder of old hospital property

A new chain coffee shop will be opening in Mendota.

Franchise owners Mary VanKeulen and Marvin VanKeulen have purchased the remainder of the old Mendota Community Hospital property on Route 251.

The upcoming Scooter’s Coffee location will join nearly 600 nationwide, including locations in Princeton and Sandwich.

At the Mendota City Council meeting Monday, the council approved a 10-year Revolving Loan Fund loan at 5% interest for $270,000 for the franchisees.
