Almost a month after the KFC in La Salle was destroyed by fire, demolition work has begun to clear the remnants of the building.

The restaurant on U.S. 6 was heavily damaged by fire June 28. A cause of the fire has not been released.

La Salle Mayor Jeff Grove said KFC is working on plans for redesigning a location in the same location.
