Roundup: DePue-Hall soccer routs Indian Creek

Mauricio Ruiz notched a hat trick Monday to lead the DePue-Hall boys soccer team to a 10-3 victory over Indian Creek in a Little Ten Conference match in DePue.

Francisco Moreno and Luis Reyez each scored two goals, while Jimmy Nugnes and Zack Bosi each added a goal.

Andres Moreno had a goal and made 13 saves for the Little Giants.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Princeton def. Dixon, 25-27, 25-14, 25-13: Abby Peterson served for 22 points and three aces while recording 17 digs to lead the Tigers to a nonconference victory in Princeton.

Katie Bates had 33 assists, 14 digs, five points and two aces for PHS (16-3), while Olivia Gartin put down 13 kills.

Earlville def. Sandwich, 25-22, 25-23: Elizabeth Browder put down six kills and had a block to help the Red Raiders to a nonconference victory in Earlville.

Brynn Guelde had five kills for Earlville (12-2, 4-0 LTC), while Emma Benson added 14 assists.

Henry-Senachwine def. Galva, 25-21, 25-16: The Mallards earned a nonconference victory in Galva.

Serena def. Putnam County, 25-22, 25-19: Tori Balma had 10 assists, five kills, three digs, three points, one ace and a block as the Panthers fell in a nonconference match in Granville.

Jaidin Trone added 10 digs, three assists, three points and two aces for Putnam County (6-7-1).

BOYS GOLF

La Salle-Peru 169, Sandwich 195: Coleman Rundle carded a 40 to help the Cavaliers to an Interstate 8 Conference victory at Edgebrook Golf Club in Sandwich.

Also scoring for L-P were Carter Fenza (42), Connor Noramczyk (43) and Jon Milota (44).

At Morris: Ethan Hanaman shot a 40 to lead Mendota to a victory in a triangular at The Creek Golf Course.

The Trojans carded a 175 to defeat Seneca (176) and Hall (180).

Rounding out the scores for Mendota were Logan Brandner (44), Dom Stamberger (45) and Drake Dennis (46).

Landon Plym led the Red Devils as he shot a 39 to earn medalist honors. Also scoring for Hall were Grant Plym (44), Rivers Jordan (47) and Nick Arate (50).

Galena 176, Amboy-LaMoille 179: Wes Wilson shot a 39 to earn medalist honors as the Clippers lost a Northwest Upstate Illini Conference match at Shady Oaks Country Club in Amboy.

Hayden Wittenauer (45), Jordan Harris (47) and Griffin Bushman (48) rounded out the scoring for A-L.

GIRLS GOLF

At Kewanee: Aleanna Mendoza and Brianne Briggs each shot a 45 to lead St. Bede to a victory in a Three Rivers Conference triangular in Kewanee.

Gianna Grivetti added a 46 for the Bruins, who carded a 200 to beat Kewanee (208) and Newman (231).

At Oglesby: Megan McGuire shot a 46 to lead La Salle-Peru to a season-low score of 197 at Deer Park Golf Club.

Kaneland won with a 163 followed by Ottawa (181), Roanoke-Benson (184), Sandwich (195) and the Cavaliers.

Also scoring for the Cavs were Allie Thome (48), Grace Antle (51) and Avah Moriarty (52).

IVCC 4, Bryant & Stratton 1: Pumi Maphumulo scored three goals Sunday to help the Eagles to a nonconference victory in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Andre Mendes had a goal and an assist for IVCC (8-3), while Joel Figueroa made four saves.
