A 37-year-old Aurora woman was taken to Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital in Sandwich following a single-vehicle crash Saturday at Route 71 and East 30th Road in Mission Township.

According to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Carissa Van Ausdall, 37, of Aurora, was southbound 9:04 a.m. Saturday on Route 71 when she became distracted. Her vehicle crossed the northbound lane of traffic and entered into the east side ditch.

Van Ausdall was taken to the Sandwich hospital by Newark EMS.

No citations were issued.
