COVID-19 testing site opens at Wheaton at DuPage County Fairgrounds

WHEATON – The DuPage County Health Department has opened an additional COVID-19 testing site, partnering with Curative to launch it at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton.

The testing site, which opened March 1, will be operational from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday (closed the first Sunday of every month); and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Book in advance at curative.com.

Testing still plays a critical role in slowing the spread of COVID-19, a news release stated. Individuals are encouraged to get tested for the following reasons:

• If you have COVID-19 symptoms

• At least five days after known or suspected close contact to COVID-19

• For screening (schools, workplaces, congregate settings, for example)

• Before and after travel

• When asked by a healthcare professional or public health official

Individuals of any age can be tested, and no appointment, doctor referral, or insurance is required. The test will be a self-collected, shallow nasal PCR test. Test results will be available within one to two days after a lab receives the sample.

The DuPage County Health Department reminds all eligible residents to get their COVID-19 vaccination and booster shot, as eligible, stay home if they are feeling ill, and wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by personal level of risk and based on the community level of COVID-19 where one lives.
