Boys Soccer: Suburban Life All-Area boys soccer team

Led by Player of the Year Giovanni Alvarez, Here is the Suburban Life All-Area boys soccer team.

Giovanni Alvarez, Morton, senior, forward: The Suburban Life Player of the Year had 21 goals and 17 assists to lead the Mustangs to fourth place at the Class 3A state finals. All-conference and all-state selection.

Max Aquino, Morton, sophomore, midfielder: Tallied 21 goals and nine assists to help the Mustangs to a second consecutive state finals appearance. All-conference and all-sectional selection.

Chris Cruz, Timothy Christian, senior, midfielder: All-conference and all-sectional selection tallied 27 goals and 14 assists to lead Trojans to fourth place at the Class 1A state finals.

Jack Finley, Hinsdale Central, senior, forward: Recorded team-high 12 goals and five assists for WSC Silver champions. All-conference and all-state selection.

Jose Herrera, York, junior, forward: Had 24 goals and 11 assists, including two goals and an assist in 4-0 win over Fremd in state title match.

Nikolas Jurgovan, Glenbard West, senior, forward: All-conference and all-sectional selection had 14 goals and 11 assists. Also named academic all-conference.

TJ McVey, Benet, senior, forward: All-conference and all-state honoree had 24 goals and 11 assists for Class 3A sectional finalist.

Sam Musial, York, senior, midfielder: All-conference and all-sectional selection recorded 13 goals, including two in state title game, and five assists to lead Class 3A champions to first state crown.

Nick Roe, Benet, sophomore, defender: Already a two-year starter, Roe had two goals and two assists to anchor defense that posted 10 shutouts. All-conference and all-sectional selection.

Luke Stockbridge, Lyons, senior, goalkeeper: Allowed only 10 goals, three of which were penalty kicks, in 24 games. New Trier All-tournament selection also was all-conference and all-state.

Jackson Sullivan, Lyons, senior, defender: All-conference and all-state selection contributed two goals and nine assists.
