Boys Soccer: The Suburban Life All-Area boys soccer team

Here is the Suburban Life All-area boys soccer team.

Giovanni Alvarez, Morton, junior, midfielder: Alvarez scored 15 goals with nine assists this season for West Suburban Gold champs. For his career he has tallied 20 goals and 10 assists.

Joshua Bode, Timothy Christian, senior, forward: All-conference pick, all-sectional honorable mention. Bode scored 21 goals and had one assist.

Trey Gora, St. Francis, senior, midfielder: Eastern Illinois recruit, Metro Suburban Conference MVP and IHSSCA all-sectional pick. In seven games Gora scored 16 goals and had eight assists to lead 9-1 Spartans. Four-year starter and three-time captain finished career with 35 goals.

Trygve Hansen, Downers Grove North, senior, midfielder: IHSSCA All-State pick. Hansen scored 12 goals and had five assists in 12 games. Scored two goals in crosstown win over Downers Grove South.

Hans Haenicke, Benet, senior, forward: East Suburban Catholic Conference Player of the Year scored 18 goals and had eight assists for Benet team that finished season 14-1 and 9-0 in conference.

Oliwier Holowinski, Glenbard West, senior, goalkeeper: North Central College commit recorded four shutouts in 12 games. Played a crucial role in 2-1 double overtime win over York.

Jesus Perez, Morton, senior, forward: Four-year varsity starter, also an All-Area point guard in basketball. Perez, an IHSSCA All-State pick, this season scored 10 goals with 11 assists. For his career had 46 goals and 46 assists.

Erik Rozanski, Wheaton North, senior, midfielder: IHSSCA All-State pick and all-conference selection in the DuKane Conference had six goals and six assists this season. For his career Rozanski finished with 15 goals and 18 assists.

Zach Serafin, Benet, senior, defender: Center back was East Suburban Catholic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and honorable mention all-sectional pick. Leader of Benet defense that allowed six goals this season in 15 games, and a combined 10 goals in 39 games over the last two seasons.

Jackson Turner, Lyons, senior, defender: IHSSCA All-State pick was the top player on 11-1 Lions’ team, what Lyons coach Paul Labbato called the school’s best team in 10 years. Three-year starter played center back and scored three goals.

Gavin Wooldridge, Glenbard East, senior, forward: IHSSCA All-State pick and two-time Upstate Eight all-conference pick set program record for career goals, and finished second in program history for career points (100). This spring Wooldridge scored 16 goals and had five assists for Rams’ team that finished 8-1-2.
