DuPage County reports 64 COVID-19 cases Monday, no deaths, 9.24% of population fully vaccinated

The DuPage County Health Department on Monday reported 64 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with no deaths.

The county now has seen a total of 72,801 coronavirus cases including 1,204 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Feb. 23 was 98.2%.

DuPage County has administered 255,906 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 85,815 people, or 9.24% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 47 consecutive days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate increased to 4.6%. Currently, 30% of ICU beds are available.

The region has 85 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.

Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 4.9% and DuPage County is at 4.5%.

Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for eight out of the last 10 days in this region.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,182 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and five additional deaths Monday, and a total of 3,387,778 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

The five new COVID-19 deaths announced in the fewest in one day since September 14.

By town, Wheaton has had 3,941 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,779, Lombard 3,795, Villa Park 2,280, Hinsdale 1,193, Westmont 1,834, Darien 1,509, Woodridge 2,271, Downers Grove 3,533, Elmhurst 3,743, Warrenville 1,148 and Winfield 944. Addison has had 4,396 confirmed cases, Naperville 6,387, Carol Stream 3,890 and West Chicago 3,966.
