Identity of Ottawa woman found dead at Heidecke Lake released

Grundy County Coroner: Natalie C. Conrad, 26, was pronounced dead at 6:35 a.m.

The Grundy County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of Natalie C. Conrad, whose vehicle was found in the water, the morning of Saturday, Dec. 18 at Heidecke Lake, southeast of Morris.

Hunters discovered the 26-year-old Ottawa woman’s partially submerged vehicle near the boat ramps about 5:30 a.m.

Conrad was pronounced dead at 6:35 a.m. by Grundy County Coroner John Callahan.

An autopsy was performed Sunday afternoon and results are pending toxicology reports and further investigation by Callahan’s Office, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Illinois State Police.
