Morris Hospital

MORRIS – Because of the increased COVID-19 incidence in the community, the Morris Hospital Auxiliary has changed its 26th annual Golf Tournament that was originally scheduled for Sept. 20 to a virtual event running from Sept. 20 to Oct. 22.

Those participating in the Morris Hospital Auxiliary Virtual Golf Tournament can play golf at a course of their choice from Sept. 20 to Oct. 22. Golfers will keep track of their own score and then take a picture with their scorecard and submit it electronically to the Morris Hospital Auxiliary office or in person to the Morris Country Club Pro Shop if playing at Morris Country Club or The Creek.

The cost to enter the 18-hole virtual tournament is $50 a person and does not include greens fees at the golf course chosen by the participant. While golfers may play at any course of their choosing, as golf course sponsors of the event, Morris Country Club and The Creek in Morris, are extending nonmembers the opportunity to play on either course for a $50 greens fee, which includes a cart. Weekends are excluded at the Morris Country Club. Participants should mention the Morris Hospital virtual golf tournament when scheduling tee times.

The golfer with the best score will receive a $500 cash prize, second place will receive $250, and third place will receive $100. Golf results and winners will be posted online Oct. 25. The deadline for submitting scorecards and pictures for the Auxiliary Virtual Golf Tournament is 5 p.m. Oct. 22.

Anyone 18 or older can support the event by entering a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize in the Golf Ball Raffle. Chances are $20 for once chance, $50 for three chances, or $100 for seven chances.
