Library, Walsh & Associates host estate planning workshop

DeKALB – Not just for the wealthy, estate planning is essential for everyone – even a bad will is usually better than no will at all. The DeKalb Public Library and Walsh & Associates will hold a virtual workshop, “Estate Planning 101,” at 6 p.m. Monday, April 12.

Estate planning involves not only passing on your real estate, personal property, and financial assets to your heirs, but also planning for others to make decisions for you should you become incapacitated or die. A well-thought out estate plan can help you provide for loved ones while managing taxes and ensuring that your wishes are carried out. Estate planning is the key to making sure that everything you work for is passed on according to your wishes. These are difficult decisions, but if you don’t make them, a court will.
