The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has investigated and determined that a threat of violence at Lisbon Grade School in Lisbon to be unfounded.
In a statement, the sheriff’s office said they were notified of a possible threat made toward students at the school March 14.
The sheriff’s office said deputies responded immediately to the school to ensure the safety of students and staff and then started an investigation.
“After speaking with numerous students, staff, and parents, no credible threat was determined to exist,” the sheriff’s office said.
The statement continued, “It was discovered no threatening statements or comments were made towards any of the students or staff at the school. The investigation determined no credible threat exists to students or staff at Lisbon Grade School, and there has been no criminal activity identified in relation to this investigation.”
The sheriff’s office asks that anyone with information relating to school safety or threats of school violence to report those concerns to your local law enforcement agency. Concern can also be reported to the Illinois School Violence Tipline at 1-800-477-0024.
