GALLERY: Oswego High School kicks off Homecoming Week with parade through Oswego’s downtown

After missing 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Oswego High School students and staff returned to downtown Oswego Sept. 19 to celebrate the beginning of the school’s annual Homecoming Week with a parade.

Student athletes and club members joined together to make their way down Main Street before a large crowd that filled the sidewalks. Represented in the parade were OHS’ football teams, cheerleaders, poms, vocal music, Marching Band, German Club, Horticulture Club, and a vast array of other extracurricular organizations.

This year’s Homecoming Court appeared in the parade as well, including court members: Cavin Lafido Isaiah Malagon-Spencer, Sean Sperekas, Julian Toma, Esteban Torres, Andrea Bottger, Jissell Cano, Audrey Esquivel, Alayna Neal and Brooke Tennent. Students will vote for King and Queen throughout the week, with the winners announced during Friday’s Pep Rally.
