Yorkville man charged with driving under the influence, driver of second vehicle injured in accident

One person was injured, and one arrested following a traffic accident in Yorkville.

Yorkville police arrested Bradley VanEynde, 42, of the 2000 block of Winterthur Green, Yorkville, on charges of driving under the influence and improper lane usage after responding to a traffic accident at 7:06 p.m., Sept. 23, in the area of Route 126 and Ashley Road.

Officers reported that a vehicle driven by VanEynde allegedly crossed the center line of the road, striking a vehicle in the opposite lane. VanEynde told officers that he went off the road and overcorrected into the other lane, the report stated.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
