Kennedy Hartwig poured in a game-high 22 points, and Seneca’s girls basketball team remained undefeated Monday night with a 59-39 win over Marquette in Tri-County Conference action in Ottawa.
Brooklyn Giertz and Madison Bromberek added 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Irish (8-0, 6-0 Tri-County). Seneca extended a 20-13 advantage after one quarter to 34-19 by halftime and was up 44-28 after three.
Gardner-South Wilmington 59, Grace Christian 18: At Gardner-South Wilmington, Kylie Hawks scored 14 points, Abby Beck added 12, and the Panthers picked up the River Valley Conference win.
Gardner-South Wilmington also received eight points apiece from Grace Halpin and Claire Hennessy.
Lincoln-Way West 83, Bradley-Bourbonnais 41: At Lincoln-Way West, Evan Pittman led the Warriors with 19 points in their Southwest Suburban Conference victory.
Ava Gugliuzza chipped in 11 points, Natalie Dynia had 10, and Tara Gugliuzza finished with nine.
Stagg 42, Lincoln-Way Central 38: At Palos Hills, Haley Stoklosa had 11 points for the Knights in their loss.
Sydney Gehrke scored nine points.
Coal City 33, Wilmington 24: At Wilmington, Colleen Feeney had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Coalers in their Illinois Central Eight victory.
Meghan Onsen had 11 points and four assists for Coal City (3-3, 3-2), which trailed, 11-10, at halftime before outscoring Wilmington, 18-4, in the third quarter. The Coalers’ other contributors included Abby Payton (nine rebounds) and Audrey Cooper (three steals).
Lisle 52, Peotone 47: At Lisle, the Lions improved to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the Illinois Central Eight.
Peotone (4-1, 3-1) was led by Mady Kibelkis (12 points, seven rebounds), Danielle Piper (11 points) and
Lauren Hamann (eight points, nine rebounds).
Reed-Custer 42, Herscher 29: At Herscher, Maddie McPherson had 14 points and nine rebounds, and the Comets snapped a two-game losing streak.
Reed-Custer (3-2) led, 24-23, at the half and came out firing in the second half, scoring the first eight points. The Comets scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to seal the deal. Daniele Cherry added seven points and eight rebounds.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Fieldcrest 69, Dwight 41: At Fieldcrest, Jaxon Cusac-Mckay scored 26 points to lead the winners in the nonconference game.
Dwight received 12 points from Isaac Telford and eight from Wyatt Thompson. Fieldcrest led only 18-15 after one quarter but outscored the Trojans, 25-12, in the second and was ahead 66-38 after three.
GIRLS BOWLING
Romeoville 1,787, Plainfield Central 2,517: At Plainfield, the host Wildcats were led by Grace Dillingham’a 593 series, including a high game of 221.
Joliet West 2,454, Joliet Central 2,014: At Crest Hill Lanes in Crest Hill, Malaya Chavez (199 high game) and Brooklinn Chavez (178) rolled 528 and 526 series, respectively, to lead the Tigers.
Joliet Central was paced by Devon Thomas’ 462 series, which included a high game of 165.
