Local groups work to send supplies to Mayfield, KY

Knights of Columbus, God’s Divine Mercy Council #14463, took up a collection in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Parish for the benefit of the people who were affected by the recent tornado activity in and around Mayfield, KY. The generosity was outstanding.

Due to the support of Yorkville Mayor John Purcell and Ace Hardware, the Knights were able to purchase many items that are needed but unavailable anywhere in the damaged areas. These many items, valued at nearly $10,000, included: tarps, extension cords, chain saws, circular saws, gas cans, axes, shovels and sledge hammers.

The items are being driven down to one of the collection sites by Jim Zbella, the Deputy Grand Knight of God’s Divine Mercy Council.

Additional donations of money can be made directly to secure.kentucky.gov/formservices/Finance/WKYRelief
