Thunderstorm watch for Grundy and Kendall counties

Kendall County was hit with a large hail storm around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10. 2026.

The National Weather Service on Tuesday issued a severe thunderstorm watch for most of northern Illinois, including Grundy and Kendall counties.

The watch is in effect until midnight.

Residents should look out for large size hail - possibly up to the size of apples - and wind speeds gusting up to 75 mph, the NWS said.
