Since Valentine’s Day falls in February, the month seems to be associated with love, red, pink and hearts.
Even the American Heart Association has named February as “American Heart Month.”
In that spirit, the Geneva Chamber of Commerce expresses our gratitude and love to our volunteers. Geneva runs on helping hands and leadership from local businesses, residents, families and students.
The Chamber depends on hundreds of volunteers for its four festivals. Events and groups to assist the business community are managed by residents and Chamber members who volunteer their time. If you are interested in volunteering in 2022, keep an eye on our website for “the call!”
Let’s not forget groups such as the Geneva Beautification Committee, Cultural Arts Commission and Geneva Foundation for the Arts, just to name a few. In addition, most of the local nonprofits are made up of volunteers. The Chamber is pleased to host the “Chamber Challenge” each year, where you can donate to these worthwhile organizations that help so many people.
We are lucky to live in a town where volunteerism is valued, encouraged and embraced. There are so many ways to give back in 2022.
February also is the month for one of the Chamber’s new ventures: the Geneva Bridal Stroll. The event is from from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 27. Meet more than 20 vendors, including florists, photographers, bakeries, hair and makeup, transportation options, venues, photo booths and more!
