GENEVA – Geneva Parents United for Students is holding a protest before the District 304 Board of Education meeting tonight.
According to a news release, the group will gather from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Coultrap Educational Services Building before the 7 p.m. meeting.
This is the third time the group has protested at a school board meeting to demand that the district resume in-person learning on Fridays. The district announced in January that all students would be remote instead of alternating in-person instruction on Fridays.
The group is concerned about “transparency from the district while the CDC says it is safe to reopen schools for in-person learning,” according to the release. Parents are asking the district for a plan to get all students back to the classroom.
The release states that more than two dozen parents are expected to address the board at the meeting.
