ELBURN – A Yorkville man who was charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual assault that took place in Elburn on Friday morning has two pending sexual assault charges from January 2021 in La Salle County, court records show.
Reginald B. Terry II, 22, of the 500 block of Heartland Drive, Yorkville, was charged March 18 with three counts each of criminal sexual assault of a victim who could not give consent and three counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim by threat of force, all felonies, according to a news release from Elburn police and court records.
Terry had been at an apartment in Elburn in the 100 block of South Main Street that evening with several other people at a party. Terry had been left there when others had gone home for the night, according to the release.
After the remaining people in the apartment went to sleep, a 19-year-old woman was awakened by Terry, who was sexually assaulting her, according to the release.
Elburn police were called to the apartment about 2:15 a.m. Terry fled from the apartment, but police found a person matching his description outside the building, detained him and later arrested him, according to the release.
Terry is being held without bond in the Kane County jail. His next court date is scheduled for April 22.
All six charges against Terry are Class 1 felonies, punishable four to 15 years in prison and fines up to $25,000 if convicted, or the judge could sentence the defendant to a term of probation of up to four years.
Terry also faces two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of two victims younger than 17 that are pending from an incident that occurred on Nov. 1, 2020, in La Salle County. Terry was charged Jan. 15, 2021, and indicted later that month, court records show.
He was released after posting $3,500 bail or 10% of a $35,000 of the bond that was set. His next court date is May 12, court records show.
