Batavia Chamber hosts ribbon cutting for Henry Tree Co.

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony April 30 for Chamber member Henry Tree Co. and their retail business, DownHome Customs, 239 W. Wilson St. in downtown Batavia.

Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration, along with owner Enrique Macias. Other guests included Enrique’s wife, Gabrielle Horvat-Macias, and Nici Fannin, store and marketing manager as well as many employees, friends, and other family members.

Batavia Chamber President Margaret Perreault; Shirley Mott, chamber communications and membership coordinator; along with chamber ambassadors and Batavia MainStreet Executive Director Beth Walker attended the event.

According to a news release, Henry Tree Co. is a family-run business that aims to bring out the best in any tree care situation, whether it be trimming, removal or fertilization. They service residential and commercial clients and offer environmental consulting.

DownHome Customs is a retail offshoot of Henry Tree Co. Craftsmen use trees that are removed to fashion custom furniture and accessories. A variety of other artisans showcase and sell their creations at DownHome Customs. The store is open 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Wednesday - Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
