Jonas Friddle, Heartsfield to perform at The Venue in Aurora

Jonas Friddle will perform at The Venue in Aurora.

The Venue, the 200-seat music performance space in Aurora, has added a concert by Jonas Friddle to its lineup.

It also announces the opening act for the Pete Ellman Jazz Big Band, which will continue its weekly residency series on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The opening set will feature Hinsdale Central High School musicians followed by the headliner. General admission costs $5. The series is sponsored by the Fox Valley Music Foundation.

Jonas Friddle returns to The Venue at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4. Winner of The John Lennon Songwriting Contest , the multi-instrumentalist has musical roots that dig deep from his childhood days in North Carolina, a news release stated. One can expect old school folk as seen through fresh eyes. Friddle keeps the past present. His latest release, “The Last Place To Go,” is being heralded as some of his finest written songs and some of his most creative arrangements yet. Premium seating costs $20, and general admission is $15. All ticket prices increase by $5 at the door.

Heartsfield performs its country rock at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5. Heartsfield is not just a band, it’s a tradition, concert organizers said. Born out of Illinois, this 1970s rock act has played in front of millions of people and sold millions of records. General admission costs $15.

All patrons will be asked to show proof of vaccination along with a photo ID to enter. Masks are required at all times except while consuming beverages in ticketed seats. Information and the full schedule of artists can be found at themusicvenue.org.
