ST. CHARLES – Nolan Possley is St. Charles East’s new head varsity football coach.

St. Charles East Athletic Director Michael Sommerfeld made the announcement March 3.

Possley, a former sophomore-level coach for three seasons and a St. Charles East alum, replaces Bryce Farquhar, who stepped down last month after seven seasons.

“I am extremely excited for Nolan and for our football program with this hire,” Sommerfeld said in a statement to the Kane County Chronicle.

“Nolan is a former Saints player and this is an opportunity he has dreamed of. He will bring an authentic Saints passion to the program, and we expect that passion and his approach will bring great results with it.”

Farquhar confirmed via text message March 3 that he stepped down for personal and family-related reasons.

Under Farquhar, the Saints’ varsity program reached the postseason four times.

“Coach Possley was a great choice and will do great with the program,” Farquhar said.
