DeKalb police investigate robbery at Varsity Square Apartments Sunday

DeKALB - DeKalb police are asking residents to avoid the 1200 block of Varsity Boulevard as police investigate a reported robbery, according to an emergency alert sent out by the City of DeKalb around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The alert states that a robbery occurred at 1212 Varsity Boulevard, which is part of the six-building Varsity Square Apartments complex.

DeKalb Police Chief David Byrd said a cell phone was reportedly robbed in the incident, and no injuries are reported. He said police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
