Kaneland’s girls volleyball team continued to cruise Thursday, dropping Rochelle, 25-12, 25-10, in Maple Park.
The one-sided win improved the Knights’ record to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in the Interstate 8 Conference.
Genoa-Kingston 2, Rockford Lutheran 0: At Rockford, the Cogs flexed their muscles on the road, taking down Lutheran, 25-18, 25-19, to improve to 14-0.
Alivia Keegan had five kills, 11 assists and a pair of blocks, and Alayna Pierce added 12 kills in the Big Northern Conference win.
Newark 2, Indian Creek 0: At Newark, the Timberwolves came up short in a 25-22, 25-19 loss.
Brooke Probst had six kills, and Kaitlyn Frazier had 19 digs as the ‘Wolves dropped to 5-7 overall.
BOYS SOCCER
Genoa-Kingston 7, Winnebago 0: At Genoa, the Cogs put together another rout at home, this time led by a hat trick from Eagan Reams.
Junior Leon and Diego Espinoza added two goals apiece, while keeper Aaron Acosta recorded the shutout as G-K improved to 12-1-0.
Wheaton Warrenville South 2, Kaneland 1: At Maple Park, the Knights came up just short at home against the Tigers.
IMSA 14, Indian Creek 0: At Shabbona, the Timberwolves were shut out at home.
BOYS GOLF
St. Charles North 158, Kaneland 163: At Bowes Creek, the Knights dropped a close one on the road in spite of another strong outing from Josh Pehl.
Pehl led Kaneland with a 2-over-par 36, Hagan Rank shot a 40, Cody Ganzon finished in 42 shots, and Wesley Hollis had a 43.
GIRLS GOLF
Sycamore 200, LaSalle Peru 205: At Oak Ridge, Brianna Chamoun earned medalist honors with a 42 to lead the Spartans to victory.
Lauren Cohn placed second with a 46, Lily Rubeck shot a 52, and Bella Kirchman had a 60 in the win.
Kaneland 187, Ottawa 218: At Hughes Creek, medalist Katharine Marshall led the way for the Knights in an Interstate 8 win.
Marshall’s 39 was tops by a wide margin, while Julia Skiba (49), Aeryn Hwang (50) and Braelyn Davoust (50) also contributed for Kaneland.

Waubonsie 7, DeKalb 0: At DeKalb, the Barbs suffered a shutout loss.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Naperville North 92, DeKalb 68: At DeKalb, the Barbs came up a bit short in their first home meet of the season.
Nicole Skrzypek and Rebecca Nenonen were double winners for DeKalb, and Julia Rasmussen also had a first-place finish.
