Children entering third through sixth grades will showcase their artistic talents at the DeKalb Public Library’s second annual Children’s Art and Poetry Gala.

The free gala runs from noon to 3 p.m. June 1 in the library’s main lobby, 309 Oak St.

Artwork and poetry will be displayed. Refreshments and music also will be provided. The theme of the gala is “What does freedom mean to you?”
