St. Matthews advanced to Saturday’s tournament finals by defeating top-seeded Malden Methodist 19-9 in six innings Tuesday night at West Side. It will seek their eighth straight league championship at 6 p.m. this Saturday, awaiting the winner of Thursday’s loser’s bracket final between Malden and United Methodist.
In Tuesday’s opener, United Methodist defeated Bureau Township 16-6 to move on for another day.
