U of I Extension offers healthy kids pop-up walking clubs

Area youth can connect with nature and healthy lifestyles this summer at the University of Illinois Extension Summer Healthy Kids Camp & Walking Club for Tweens.

With Extension staff, youth, ages 8-12, will have fun on walking adventures and learn to count their steps along the way. There will be discussion on good nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. Have fun creating craft projects and take home a snack at each meeting. Masks and social distancing will be practiced.

Healthy Kids Pop-Up Walking Clubs will meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at:

  • Henry Public Library, 702 Front Street, June 21, 23 & 25 – call to register
  • Putnam County Library, 214 N. 4th Street, Hennepin, July 12, 14 & 16 – register by July 8.
  • Memorial Park, Wyanet, July 26, 28 & 30 – register by July 22.

These are outdoor events.  There is no cost to attend. To register, please call University of Illinois Extension at 815-224-0889.
