Donna Braida to resign from Bureau County Board

PRINCETON — Bureau County Board Member Donna Braida, R-Princeton, will resign from the board, effective May 1.

During Tuesday’s county board meeting, chairman Marshann Entwhistle read a letter on behalf of Braida announcing her resignation. The letter stated that after a lot of thought and consideration, Braida felt it was best to focus on her health and wellness as she continues to battle an illness.

Entwhistle said she was making the announcement of Braida with “a heavy heart.”

Braida’s letter stated, “I’ve learned a lot about the county and all the good things this board is tasked with. ... The board members are a big part of the many communities that make up this county. We’re very fortunate to have this board and committee members who devote their time to these areas that make our county run. It’s been a privilege working with all of you.”

Braida’s letter was met with a respective applause by all board members in attendance at Tuesday’s meeting.

Braida served District 9. She was also a member of the emergency services and zoning committee and was a liaison between the Bureau County Health Department and county board.
