Prep roundup: Tessa Prellberg scores 26, reaches 1,000-point club

Tessa Prellberg scored a game-high 26 points, including a milestone basket, leading Hinckley-Big Rock’s girls basketball team to a 57-8 win over host Hiawatha in Little Ten Conference action Thursday night.

With her 11th point, Prellberg became the 13th member of the 1,000 Point Club in the Lady Royals program. Hinckley-Big Rock improved to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Little Ten.

BOYS SWIMMING

Naperville North 174, DeKalb 128: Donny Gramer and Max Palacios each swam to a pair of wins, but the Barbs dropped the nonconference meet.

Gramer touched first in the 100-yard freestyle (52.00) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.55), while Palacios captured the 200 IM (2:11.12) and 500 free (5:12.86). The Barbs competed without divers.

“We were extremely happy with how the boys swam tonight,” DeKalb coach Melanie Chambers said. “Most boys had season best times in all of their events, and some had life-time best swims. ... We are looking forward to a good meet on Saturday at home vs. Sterling.”

The Barbs also got strong swims from Timothy Braun, who won the 100 butterfly (55.51) and took second in the 200 free (1:56.12), and Jacob Gramer, who touched first in the 50 free (23.03) and finished second in the 100 free (52.18). Jared VanderSchee was second in both the 50 free (23.53) and 100 backstroke (57.44). Noah Johnson placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.46).
